Citizenship Classes

candle light

Check out our citizenship class flyer and join us on Wednesday nights from now until March 16th for a free class to prepare for and go through the naturalization process.

We will discuss topics related to the civics portion of the naturalization exam including current events, the American system of government, U.S. history, the rights reserved for all Americans, and our current leadership. As always, classes will have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Red Doors

RedDoor-border-800The building with the red doors at the corner of 8th & College in Des Moines daily serves as a gathering place for many people. Though the building is on the National Register of Historic Places, it is more like a campus than a museum. With major renovations and restoration in the past decade, we look ahead to further its role in serving the community.  Visit the Red Door website for first- hand stories of the true value of the building....

At the end of 2015, there is an urgent appeal to repair the cover that shields the stained glass dome in the sanctuary.  Foreman and Ford Glass Company are the repair experts and have done one section of eight that needed immediate attention this fall.
